WHEATON, IL — Local artists are being sought to revamp the fire hydrants in downtown Wheaton with bold colors and creative designs inspired by Andy Warhol. The public art project coincides with College of DuPage's current Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop exhibit, which opens June 3.

In total, 20 artists will be selected to decorate fire hydrants in a paid commission. Each artist's work can be sponsored by local businesses and organizations for $250. Artists have until April 15 to apply to decorate a hydrant.
