WHEATON, IL — A mural featuring Andy Warhol-inspired images of famous Wheaton figures is set to be unveiled at the Wheaton Public Library May 22. The mural, created by Geoff Bevington, will span a width of 20 feet and stretch seven feet high on a wall near the west plaza of the library.

The colorful piece will be comprised of four pop art portraits of local figures that were chosen by members of Wheaton's Chamber of Commerce’s Arts, Business, and Culture Committee. The identity of the chosen subjects will remain under wraps until the unveiling.

The following individuals will be on hand to unveil the photos:

Wheaton Mayor Philip Suess

  • Wheaton College President Dr. Philip Ryken

  • DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation President Marty Keller

  • Director of the McAninch Arts Center Director Diana Martinez

The public art installation coincides with Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop, which is set to open at College of DuPage's Cleve Carney Museum of Art June 3. What: Warhol-Inspired Public Art Unveiling
