Reception: On Saturday, February 18, 2023, the Addison Center for the Arts will host the Expressions: Art & Verse Reception from 1 to 4 pm. The public is invited to enjoy the art exhibit in the gallery and then attend the poetry recital by members of the Illinois State Poetry Society in the adjacent studio theater.

Addison, IL 60101, is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for its third collaboration between Illinois artists and the Illinois State Poetry Society (ISPS).
In February 2023, the ACA will host the Expressions: Art & Verse program in which ISPS poets recite ekphrastic poems they’ve written about pieces of art. It is always an enriching melding of two art forms — poetry and visual art.
The art exhibit will open Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Participating artists will display original artworks that inspired a poem by an ISPS poet. ISPS poets will jury the prospective artists by choosing their favorite from the candidates’ entry images.
Artist Entries: For consideration in the exhibit, visual artists will submit images of up to four digital images/videos of their artwork for consideration by the poets. All 2D and 3D visual art media are eligible. Those artworks must be available for display during the gallery exhibition from February 15, 2023 through March 18, 2023. The entry fee is free for ACA members. Non-member entries are $10 per piece, or $35 for four pieces and automatic ACA membership.

Deadline for entries is December 17, 2022. Artists will be notified by email which of their pieces, if any, were selected by the poets in early January 2023.
Upon receipt of your entry email, artists will be sent an invoice for their entry fee. Artists who want to send a check should apply early to account for added mail time to the following:
